Nikon Coolpix S550 10 Megapixel
Recently I went to India and before leaving I had a choice between the Nikon Coolpix S550 and another camera. I chose the other one. It was a bad choice. Since that time I have had the opportunity to take many photos with the Nikon Coolpix and I am pleased to report that it is one of the best point and shoot cameras on the market today. By a long shot!
When it comes to cameras the most important thing is the lens. It does not matter how many megapixels you have, if your lens is of poor quality your photos will be as well. Nikon are well known for having one of the best quality lenses on the market and the Coolpix is no exception.
This camera’s features include:
- 10 megapixels (more than enough for anyone)
- 5 times optical zoom
- image stabilisation for shake control
- red eye reduction
One of the best features of this camera, however, is its ability to find and capture faces. It detects up to 12 faces in the photo field and makes sure they are in focus and well light. Simply amazing!
I would recommend this camera to anyone who is looking for a basic but advanced point and shoot that produces some really high quality and “warm” photographs. I wish I had chosen it!
